February Astrology Forecast: Move Slow, Break Things
Share
This month, I'm continuing the approach that (I hope) makes the forecast more practical and actionable. Rather than trying to track every transit, you're invited to work more deeply with what's actually alive in your life right now. As you read through the themes below, notice which questions make you think 'that's what I'm dealing with.' Those are your invitations to go deeper. It's kind of a "choose your own adventure" where you trust your intuition to pull out the parts that make sense for you to weave your magic with this month.
January initiated us into new territory, now February asks us to move across that terrain with courage and compassion. We are called to try things we've never tried before while giving ourselves permission to stumble, to slow down, to trust what can't be explained.
This is a month of transitions. Saturn and Neptune, after years of circling each other in Pisces, finally meet at 0° Aries on the 20th - a generational conjunction that marks the beginning of a new epoch. We're leaving the fog of Pisces dissolution and stepping onto the trailhead of Aries action, even though we don't yet know how to walk this path. We're meant to learn as we go.
Eclipse season arrives with an annular solar eclipse at 28° Aquarius on the 17th, square Uranus - the first eclipse on the Aquarius/Leo axis, previewing themes we'll work with more fully later in the year. We're in a growth window, transitioning between stories, being given time to prepare while still completing the work of the current Pisces/Virgo cycle.
Throughout the month, the personal planets migrate from the mental, innovative realm of Aquarius into the emotional, boundary-less ocean of Pisces. Mercury, Venus, and the Sun each square Uranus on their way out - necessary disruptions in communication, relationships, and identity that help us release our grip on rational control. Mercury enters Pisces in its fall and almost immediately stations retrograde, extending our stay in this wordless, feeling-centered space through March.
February holds paradox: we're being asked to try new things AND to rest. To take clumsy first steps into unknown territory AND to slow down, to stop rushing, to trust what we sense rather than what we can explain. To innovate AND to surrender. To move AND to feel our way through.
The invitation isn't to choose between fast and slow, action and rest, thinking and feeling. It's to hold both. To stumble forward with self-compassion. To disrupt what needs disrupting while trusting the healing that happens when we stop trying to figure everything out.
Move slow. Break things. Learn to walk. Feel your way through. Learn to trust yourself.

THE MAJOR THEMES FOR FEBRUARY
As you read through these three themes, pay attention to which resonance questions spark recognition in your body and experience. You don't need to work with all three - in fact, it's often more powerful to go deep with one or two rather than skimming the surface of everything. Trust what calls to you. The theme(s) that make you think "yes, that's exactly what I'm navigating" are your invitations for deeper work this month.

Theme 1: Neptune/ Saturn Conjunction in Aries: Clumsy New Beginnings
The fog lifts. We wake up. And we realise we're standing at the beginning of an epic journey we don't yet know how to complete - and that's exactly as it should be.
Neptune has been dissolving everything in Pisces since 2011, spending over a decade in its home waters. Saturn joined for the final stretch in March 2023, adding structure to the dissolution, form to the formlessness. For nearly three years they've hung out in Pisces, getting close but never quite meeting. Then, in January 2026, Neptune stepped into Aries - leaving home for uncertain territory. Two weeks later, Saturn follows. And within days of Saturn's arrival in Aries, they finally come together at 0° - the World Point, where personal becomes collective, where private becomes public.
This is the shift from dreaming to doing, from "one day" to "day one." From years of not-knowing in the Piscean fog to standing at the trailhead in Aries, pack on our backs, map uncertain, skills yet to be learned.
Both planets are in challenging placements here. Neptune in Aries is in its detriment - direct action doesn't come naturally to the planet of dreams and dissolution. Saturn in Aries is in its fall - the planet of structure and planning struggles with impulsive, pioneering energy. They're both a bit clumsy here. And there's learning in that.
We're not meant to be good at this yet.
New beginnings are usually messy. We don't expect a baby to just stand up and walk perfectly. We celebrate the wobbling, the grabbing onto furniture, the spectacular tumbles. We offer gentle encouragement, not harsh criticism. We know this is a learning process and they will master it. Carrots work better than sticks.
This Saturn-Neptune conjunction is asking us to step into experiential learning - the kind our modern world tries desperately to avoid through endless research, perfect planning, and learning from other people's mistakes. But some things can only be learned by doing them ourselves. This isn't a dress rehearsal. We're live. And the invitation is to move from a place of inspired, messy action - bringing Neptune's compassion with us as we stumble forward into Saturn's structures.
The stumbling is part of learning to walk.
Resonance Questions:
- What dream or vision have you been holding in the fog, waiting for the "right time" or the "perfect plan"?
- Where have you been trying to think your way into knowing, when what you actually need is to experience or practice your way into understanding?
- What would it look like to bring compassion (Neptune) with you into action (Aries), rather than leaving kindness behind when you start moving?
- If you treated yourself as you would a toddler learning to walk - with delight at effort, patience with tumbles, celebration of trying - what would become possible?
Journal Prompts:
- Write about a time you learned something important through direct experience that you never could have learned from research or advice. What made the lived experience irreplaceable?
- What does "day one" feel like to you right now? Describe the trailhead where you're standing. What can you see? What's uncertain? What's in your pack?
- Complete this sentence in as many ways as feel true: "I'm learning to walk with..."
- The fog has lifted. What do you see now that you couldn't see before? And more importantly - what are you willing to do about it, even clumsily?
Micro-Practices:
- The Wobbly First Step: Each day this month, do one small thing you don't yet know how to do well. Let yourself be a beginner. Notice the urge to perfect it first - then do it anyway.
- Carrot, Not Stick: When you make a mistake or stumble, literally say out loud: "Good job trying" (or something less cheesy). Hold yourself with encouragement rather than criticism.
- The Baby Walk Celebration: Keep a list of your stumbles this month - not as failures, but as evidence that you're actually moving, actually trying new things, actually learning. Celebrate the list.
Ritual:
- Walking Into the Unknown: On or around 20th February (when Saturn and Neptune meet), go for a walk somewhere you've never been. Don't plan the route. Don't research it first. Just start walking and see where you end up. Bring water. Bring compassion. Expect to get a bit lost. That's the point. When you return, light a candle and write down: "Today I practiced not knowing where I was going."
Theme 2: Innovation Meets Discernment - The Growth Window
We're being given time to grow into the next story, while still completing the current one.
On 17th February, we experience an annular solar eclipse at 28° Aquarius, square Uranus in Taurus. This is the first eclipse on the Aquarius/Leo axis - a preview, a threshold announcement of where we're heading. But we're not there yet. The nodes themselves are still in Pisces/Virgo, and will be until later in 2026. The following lunation in March is a lunar eclipse in Virgo - we still have work to complete on the themes of perfectionism versus surrender, control versus trust, analysis versus intuition.
But this Aquarius eclipse brings something new to the conversation. It shifts our focus from the embryonic, formless dissolution of Pisces towards the structured idealism of Aquarius. We're moving from the womb into the collective, from pre-verbal knowing into innovative problem-solving, from individual mysticism into group breakthrough.
The square to Uranus amplifies this - sudden shifts, technological breakthroughs, liberation, disruption. This eclipse asks: What new ways can we find to solve long-standing problems? What innovations - technological, social, collective - might offer solutions we couldn't see before?
Throughout February, Mercury, Venus, and the Sun all cross the North Node in Pisces, offering multiple activations, multiple invitations to receive what wants to come through. Mercury will cross this point three times due to its retrograde (once in February, twice more in March), giving us repeated opportunities to integrate these downloads.
This is a growth window. We have months to prepare for the full shift into Aquarius/Leo themes. We're not being rushed, but we are being invited to start experimenting now - to let innovation meet our current work, to try new approaches while we still have the safety of the familiar cycle.
But here's the crucial piece: Aquarius energy, especially squared by Uranus, can sweep us up in collective movements without us checking whether they actually serve our lived reality. The coming months will likely bring technological advancements, social innovations, group solutions that promise to change everything. The shadow of Aquarius is groupthink masquerading as revolution - adopting things because they're novel, because everyone else is doing it, because the algorithm says so.
Your lived experience is the compass. Not what's trending. Not what the collective says. What do YOU know to be true through direct experience? Does this innovation actually serve YOUR life?
Collective action can be powerful, world-changing even. But it needs to be rooted in individual discernment, aligned with embodied truth. The invitation is to engage with the exciting possibilities of collective innovation while staying grounded in what you know, in your body, to be real.
Resonance Questions:
- What long-standing problem in your life might benefit from a completely different approach - something you've dismissed as too radical or unconventional?
- Where are you being swept up in collective movements or technological solutions without checking whether they actually align with your lived experience?
- What does "embodied discernment" feel like to you? How do you distinguish between your truth and adopted group-think?
- As we prepare to shift from Pisces/Virgo themes (surrender vs control) towards Aquarius/Leo themes (collective vs individual), what feels unfinished in the current cycle that needs your attention?
Journal Prompts:
- The collective is offering new solutions right now - in technology, in social movements, in "the way forward." List what's being offered. Then, honestly assess: which of these actually serves your real life, and which are you being drawn to because they're shiny or everyone else is excited about them?
- Complete this: "I know this is true for me, even if it's not true for the collective..."
- Write about a time you got caught up in a group movement or trending solution that didn't actually fit your life. What did you learn? How do you recognise that pattern now?
- What does "innovation rooted in embodied truth" look like in your life? Give specific examples.
Micro-Practices:
- The Body Check: Before adopting any new solution, tool, or approach this month (especially technological ones), pause and ask your body: "Does this actually serve me?" Notice where you feel expansion vs contraction. Trust the sensation over the hype.
- One Foot In Each Story: Each week, do something that honours the Pisces/Virgo work still in progress (surrender, trust, releasing perfectionism) AND something that experiments with Aquarius innovation (trying a new approach, thinking collectively, problem-solving differently).
- Discernment Diary: When you notice yourself being drawn to something because "everyone's doing it" or "it's the future," write it down. Don't judge it - just notice the pattern. Track whether these collective pulls align with your actual needs.
Ritual:
- The Eclipse Threshold: On 17th February (the solar eclipse), create two lists. List One: "What I'm still completing" (Pisces/Virgo themes - the work that's not yet done). List Two: "What I'm preparing to experiment with" (Aquarius/Leo preview - new approaches, innovations, collective possibilities). Place them side by side. You don't have to choose between them. This is a growth window - there's room for both.

Theme 3: Permission to Slow Down and Deepen Into Self-Trust
You don't need to have kicked the year off strong. You don't need to explain what you're going through. You are feeling your way through it - and that takes time.
Throughout February, we watch the stellium that's been clustered together - first in Capricorn, then Aquarius - begin to break apart some. Mercury enters Pisces on 6th February. Venus follows on the 10th. The Sun on the 18th. Mars will join them in March. One by one, they migrate from fixed air into mutable water, from the mental realm of Aquarius (innovation, collective thinking, structured idealism) into the emotional, boundary-less ocean of Pisces.
But they don't leave quietly. Each planet squares Uranus in Taurus on the way out - a necessary disruption in their specific domain before they can truly surrender.
Mercury squares Uranus on 5th February - our communication patterns, thinking processes, and information gathering get jolted. This is the last time this specific transit will happen in our lifetimes (Mercury in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus). The disruption in how we think and communicate creates the opening for what comes next.
Venus squares Uranus on 8th February - our relationships, values, and what we love gets shaken up before dissolving into Piscean compassion.
The Sun squares Uranus on 16th February - our identity, ego, core sense of self gets disrupted before surrendering into Pisces' boundary-lessness.
Mars squares Uranus on 27th February - our action, desire, and drive gets a final jolt, though Mars stays in Aquarius a bit longer while the others have already moved on.
This series of disruptions help us release our grip on rational control, on needing to understand everything, on trying to think our way through what can only be felt.
And then there's Mercury in Pisces.
Mercury enters its the sign of its fall on 6th February - the planet of communication, logic, and categorisation in a sign where there's simply too much that can't be explained or put into words. Mercury immediately enters its pre-retrograde shadow, then stations retrograde on 26th February at 22° Pisces. We're staying in Mercury/Pisces territory for an extended period, through the retrograde and into March.
This isn't a quick transit we rush through. We're meant to linger here.
Mercury in Pisces asks us to stop trying to think our way through, to stop trying to talk or analyse or explain what we're experiencing. Instead: feel your way through. Turn to dreams. Turn to divination. Turn to your body's knowing. Turn to what can't be spoken but can absolutely be sensed.
When we resist this, when we keep trying to rationalise the irrational, explain the ineffable, put words to what lives beyond language - Mercury in Pisces feels frustrating, foggy, confusing. But when we surrender to it, when we trust the non-rational ways of knowing, it can be deeply, profoundly healing.
Venus, meanwhile, enters her exaltation in Pisces on 10th February. Love, beauty, and values bloom in compassion, artistry, and boundary-less connection. She meets retrograde Mercury at 22° Pisces on 28th February - a conversation between love and communication that happens not through words, but through feeling.
This month doesn't have a rushing quality to it. If you haven't felt like you're "kicking the year off strong" (if that's even a real thing), that's okay. That's not what this time is for. This is about slowing down. This is about deepening into self-trust - not the kind that comes from having everything figured out, but the kind that comes from trusting what you feel, what you sense, what you dream, what your body knows without explanation.
You have time. The retrograde ensures it. You're meant to stay here a while, to let the healing happen at its own pace, to trust yourself through means that have nothing to do with thinking it through.
Resonance Questions:
- Where have you been trying to think or talk your way through something that can only be felt?
- What non-rational ways of knowing do you trust? (Dreams, divination, body sensations, intuition?) And where have you been dismissing these in favour of logical explanation?
- What would it feel like to give yourself permission to slow down right now, to not have everything figured out, to not be "productive" in the conventional sense?
- How do you distinguish between self-trust and self-doubt when the rational mind can't provide clear answers?
Journal Prompts:
- Mercury is in its fall in Pisces because there's too much that can't be explained. Write about something you're experiencing right now that resists explanation. Don't try to make sense of it - just describe how it feels.
- Complete this sentence: "If I trusted what I feel rather than what I think, I would..."
- What do your dreams (literal night dreams or daydreams) keep showing you? Write them down without interpretation. Just witness what's coming through.
- The necessary disruptions (Uranus squares) in communication, relationships, and identity - where have you felt jolted this month? What if that jolt was clearing space for a different way of knowing?
Micro-Practices:
- Morning Pages, Feeling Edition: Instead of writing what you think each morning, write what you feel. Sensations in your body, emotional weather, the quality of the day. No analysis. Just feeling.
- Ask the Cards: When you're stuck trying to figure something out mentally, pull a tarot or oracle card instead. Don't overthink the meaning - notice what you feel when you see it.
- The Slow Practice: Once a day, do something unnecessarily slowly. Make tea slowly. Walk slowly. Eat slowly. Notice how your nervous system responds to the permission to not rush.
Ritual:
- Mercury Retrograde Dream Work: On 26th February when Mercury stations retrograde, set the intention before sleep to receive guidance through dreams. Keep a journal by your bed. For the duration of the retrograde (through March), record your dreams immediately upon waking - not to interpret them, but to honour that your psyche is speaking in a language beyond words. At the end of the retrograde, read through what came through. Trust what you sense, even if you can't put it into words easily.
