This month, I'm trying something different with the forecast. There are so many month ahead forecasts you can read (and I encourage people to read many, we all find different people who we vibe with). But I want the focus of this one to be really practical, so you're not just reading, but able to take something away that you can work with during the month. As you read through each theme below, notice which questions make you think 'Oh yes, that's exactly what I'm dealing with.' Those are your invitations to go deeper. It's kind of a "choose your own adventure" where you trust your intuition to pull out the parts that make sense for you to weave your magic with this month.

October is a month of sacred dissolution, where the spiritual meets the transformational in ways that ask for both surrender and trust. After a year of previewing revolutionary changes, the outer planets dipping into new signs with most also retreating again, we find ourselves in a profound moment of completion and preparation.

This month marks a significant shift as Neptune returns to Pisces on 22nd October, rejoining Saturn in the sign of spiritual surrender and divine connection. The dance between these planets has been ongoing for months. Together in Aries, then separated again as Saturn returned to Pisces, and now Neptune also drops back into Pisces. This is a final, necessary dive into the depths, the disintegration, before the emergence of what is coming shows itself more clearly early next year.

We're being invited into what I'm calling "The Final Dis-Integration" - a sacred unraveling that dissolves what no longer serves whilst reconnecting us to something much larger than ourselves. Pisces, as the final sign of the zodiac, represents the omega point where individual boundaries soften and we remember our connection to the divine, however you understand or experience that connection.

Yet even as we surrender into these Piscean waters, the future continues to call (loudly, it's pulling on our attention). Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius maintain their air sign positions, bringing powerful currents of innovation, technology, and collective transformation. The tension is palpable: we're simultaneously being asked to let go of the old whilst staying aware of the revolutionary changes building on the horizon.

This creates a unique psychological landscape for October. We may feel pulled between dissolution and innovation, between spiritual retreat and technological advancement, between individual needs and collective callings, between overwhelm and a social media doom scroll. The key to unlock all of this lies in understanding that this dissolution is a necessary clearing. It's also a powerful moment for us to feel and connect with a deeper sense of meaning in preparation for the new epoch that is coming.

Mercury's journey through Scorpio mid-month, culminating in a powerful conjunction with Mars on the 20th, adds depth and intensity to this process. We're not just working on the surface level, we're excavating psychological truths and emotional depths that have been brewing beneath. The Aries Full Moon on 6th October calls forth individual courage for this inner work, whilst the Libra New Moon on 21st offers a chance to plant seeds for how we want to relate - to ourselves, others, and the divine - as we prepare for what's coming.

Perhaps most importantly, October offers us a final opportunity to ground ourselves in spiritual connection before the faster-paced, more individualistic Aries energy returns. Whatever form your spiritual practice takes this month asks you to lean into that connection. Let it be your anchor as the old dissolves and your compass for the new emerges.

Before we dive into the individual themes below, it's worth noting the backdrop against which all of October's astrology unfolds. Neptune's return to Pisces on the 22nd sees Saturn and Neptune together again in the sign of spiritual surrender and dissolution. This retreat from Aries back into Pisces creates a profound container for the month, and for the rest of the year. It is a final invitation to dissolve, release, and reconnect with divine guidance before the cardinal fire energy returns in force in February 2026.

Mercury's journey through Scorpio reaches its culmination on the 20th October with a powerful conjunction to Mars at 19° Scorpio, trine the North Node in Pisces. Here we are being called to excavate psychological truths that have been brewing (stewing?) in the depths, but this isn't just difficult inner work - it's spiritually aligned excavation. You may know already what these are, it's the stuff you've been avoiding, possibly shadow material that bubbled up during September's eclipse season.

The Aries Full Moon on 6th October, ruled by this same Mars energy, offers the courage needed for this inner archaeological work. The trine to the North Node suggests this truth-telling is actually guiding you toward your higher path.

You might want to call in a goddess who supports release and shadow work - perhaps Kali, Hecate, or Persephone. Write down the truths you've been avoiding on pieces of paper, then burn them one by one, speaking aloud: "I transform this shadow into wisdom." As each paper burns, pull a tarot/oracle card or use another form of divination to receive guidance about how this truth serves your spiritual path. End by stating one action you'll take to honour what you've discovered.

2. Seeding New Relations

Venus enters Libra on the 13th October, her home sign, bringing grace and magnetism to how we connect with others. The very next day, she forms a Grand Air Trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius whilst simultaneously opposing Neptune in Aries. This is relationship energy with a revolutionary edge - we're not just seeking harmony, we're ready for innovative breakthroughs in how we connect.

The Libra New Moon on the 21st at the final degree of the sign seals this theme. This lunation is particularly potent because it's the first New Moon since September's intense eclipse season. We're finally ready to plant fresh seeds about how we want to relate, both to others and to ourselves.

Ritual: On the Libra New Moon (21st), harness the Grand Air Trine energy with a "relationship revolution" ceremony. Write down the old relationship patterns you're ready to release on biodegradable paper and release them to the wind (or burn them and let the smoke carry them away). Then create a vision board or written manifesto of the revolutionary connections you want to call in - think collaboration, equality, innovative ways of relating in all your close relationships, connections that support your growth and theirs. End by speaking this aloud to the air element, asking it to carry your intentions to the right people and relationships.

3. Power in Motion

Pluto stations direct at 1° Aquarius on 13th October, and this is significant. This dwarf planet has been dancing back and forth over the same few degrees between Capricorn and early Aquarius for years now. When it stations direct this month, it will remain forward-moving until it stations retrograde again in May 2026 at 5° Aquarius. This gives us months of consistent forward momentum with transformation and power themes.

The Sun's square to Pluto on 24th October adds intensity to this theme. With the Sun in Scorpio squaring Pluto (Scorpio's modern ruler), there's a powerful unearthing happening - secrets, hidden power dynamics, and buried aspects of ourselves are being brought to light. This isn't just about stepping into power; it's about excavating authentic power from the depths.

Ritual: Create a "power reclamation" ceremony by writing down the ways you've given your power away or held yourself back on small pieces of paper. Burn them safely while visualising yourself reclaiming that energy. Follow this with a declaration of how you choose to use your power going forward.
