December 2025 Astrology Forecast: At The Crossroads
Share
This month, I'm continuing the approach that (I hope) makes the forecast more practical and actionable. Rather than trying to track every transit, you're invited to work more deeply with what's actually alive in your life right now. As you read through the themes below, notice which questions make you think 'that's what I'm dealing with.' Those are your invitations to go deeper. It's kind of a "choose your own adventure" where you trust your intuition to pull out the parts that make sense for you to weave your magic with this month.
December arrives as this year's mindful reckoning. It is a month where belief systems meet material reality at the crossroads of the lunar nodes. With the Sun, Venus, Mars, and Mercury all moving through Sagittarius and Capricorn (apart from Mercury), and squaring the nodes in Pisces and Virgo, we're collectively standing at the bendings of the nodes. These are pivot points, decision moments where old patterns meet new possibilities.
The nodes have been in Pisces (North) and Virgo (South) since January 2025, asking us to move from perfectionism and over-analysis toward faith and spiritual surrender. December intensifies this journey as each personal planet engages the nodal axis. We're being asked: What beliefs need to die so new ones can be born? What structures are ready to dissolve, and which ones need fortifying?
Saturn and Neptune sit close together at the late degrees of Pisces, the karmic completion point. Neptune stations direct at the very final degree of Pisces on the 10th, amplifying the dissolving, dreaming, potentially disorienting energy. This is the final look-back before both planets enters Aries for good this time in 2026, closing a chapter that began when Saturn entered Pisces in March 2023. Meanwhile, Jupiter retrogrades through Cancer, asking us to review our emotional foundations and what actually makes us feel secure.
Mars enters its exaltation in Capricorn on the 15th, giving us disciplined energy and ambitious clarity for the final stretch of 2025. This is action that builds rather than burns. But before Mars settles into Capricorn's steady climb, it squares Neptune in Sagittarius on the 14th. We may face a final moment of confusion about direction, spiritual warfare, or the tension between vision and action.
The month bookends with lunations that emphasise the nodal journey: a Full Moon at 13° Gemini on the 4th (bringing information and mental clarity to balance Sagittarius season's big-picture thinking), and a New Moon at 28° Sagittarius on the 20th, offering one last chance to plant seeds in Sagittarian soil before the Sun moves into Capricorn for the Solstice.
December is not subtle. It's calling us to look at whatever we've been avoiding all year, asking us to make choices about what we believe and what we are building as we move towards a new year.

THE MAJOR THEMES FOR DECEMBER
As you read through these three themes, pay attention to which resonance questions spark recognition in your body and experience. You don't need to work with all three - in fact, it's often more powerful to go deep with one or two rather than skimming the surface of everything. Trust what calls to you. The themes that make you think "yes, that's exactly what I'm navigating" are your invitations for deeper work this month.
Theme 1: At the Bendings - The Nodal Crossroads
Three times this month, personal planets square the lunar nodes: the Sun (5th), Venus (11th), and Mercury (20th). When planets square the nodes, they're at the "bendings"—90-degree angles that create friction, urgency, and choice points.
The nodes represent our collective evolutionary direction. The South Node in Virgo holds our past patterns of perfectionism, over-analysis, and trying to fix everything through control and precision. The North Node in Pisces calls us toward faith, surrender, spiritual trust, and accepting what cannot be controlled or understood. Planets at the bendings invite us to choose: Do we cling to the old way or step into the new paradigm?
This month, every planet that squares the nodes is in Sagittarius, the sign of belief systems, philosophy, truth-seeking, and meaning-making. We're being asked to examine our beliefs at a foundational level. What do you believe about control versus surrender? About knowing versus trusting? About fixing versus allowing?
Resonance Question: Are you feeling caught between needing to know the plan and needing to trust the unknown? Is there a place in your life where perfectionism or over-analysis is blocking your forward movement? Do you sense that an old belief system is ready to die, but you're not yet sure what will replace it? Are you being asked to choose faith over fixing?
Journal Prompts:
- What belief about control or certainty am I being asked to release?
- Where am I clinging to Virgo South Node energy (analysis, perfectionism, fixing) when I'm actually being called toward Pisces North Node energy (faith, surrender, acceptance)?
- What would it look like to trust the process in the specific area of my life that feels most uncertain right now?
- What old story about "how things should be" is ready to dissolve?
Micro-Practice:
Each time you catch yourself spiralling into analysis, over-planning, or trying to control an outcome, pause and place one hand on your heart. Take three deep breaths and say: "I am learning to trust what I cannot see." Notice what softens in your body when you practice this.
Ritual:
Create two lists. On one page, write "What I'm Releasing" and list all the Virgo South Node patterns you're ready to let go of. Perhaps this is perfectionism, over-analysis, the need to have all the answers, the impulse to fix everything. On another page, write "What I'm Calling In" and list the Pisces North Node qualities you're embracing, maybe faith, surrender, spiritual trust, mystery, divine timing. Burn or bury the first list as an offering to the past. Keep the second list somewhere visible as a reminder of where you're headed.
Theme 2: Saturn-Neptune at late Pisces - Dreams Meeting Reality
Neptune stations direct at 29° Pisces on December 10th, with Saturn very close throughout the month (this prolonged will-they-won't-they between Saturn and Neptune is continuing into Spring next year).
Saturn has been in Pisces since March 2023, teaching us about spiritual discipline, emotional boundaries, and giving structure to our faith. Neptune has been in Pisces since 2011, dissolving old spiritual paradigms and reconnecting us to collective consciousness. Now they meet at the very edge of Pisces, asking: What dreams need grounding? What structures need dissolving?
December asks us to examine the dreams we've been carrying that need either concrete action (Saturn) or complete release (Neptune). Some visions are meant to be built; others are meant to dissolve back into the cosmic soup. The wisdom is knowing which is which.
Resonance Question: Are you struggling to ground a dream or vision into reality? Is there something you've been spiritually bypassing - using faith or "divine timing" as an excuse not to take practical action? Or conversely, are you trying to force structure onto something that actually needs to dissolve? Do you feel like you're standing at an ending with no clear beginning in sight?
Journal Prompts:
- What dream or vision have I been carrying that needs practical steps and structure to become real?
- Where have I been using spirituality as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility or action?
- What illusion or fantasy is ready to dissolve so I can see reality more clearly?
- What does "spiritual pragmatism" mean to me? How can I honour both the mystical and the material?
Micro-Practice:
Choose one dream or goal that's been floating in the spiritual realm. This week, take one concrete, practical action toward it. Schedule the meeting. Research the course. Open the bank account. Make one phone call. Saturn at late Pisces wants to help you translate dreams into reality, but you have to meet it halfway with practical action.
Ritual:
Create a simple altar with two elements: something that represents structure (a stone, a key, a small container) and something that represents dissolution or flow (water, salt, a white candle). Light the candle and sit with both elements. Ask yourself: "What needs grounding?" and "What needs releasing?" Let the answers come without forcing them. When you're ready, pour the water over the stone (or into the earth) as a symbolic act of bringing dreams into form while releasing what cannot be.

Theme 3: Mars in Capricorn - Exalted Action
Mars enters Capricorn on December 15th and will stay there until early February 2026. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, meaning it functions at its highest expression in this sign. This is Mars as the master builder, the strategic warrior, the patient architect who understands that real power comes from disciplined, sustained effort over time.
After months of Mars in signs where its energy has been complicated (retrograde in Cancer earlier this year, then through Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius with various challenges), Mars in Capricorn feels like coming home to clarity. This is ambition with integrity. Action aligned with long-term vision. The ability to work steadily toward goals without burning out or giving up.
But before Mars settles into Capricorn's mountain climb, it squares Neptune in Sagittarius on December 14th. This is a final moment of tension between vision and action, between what we want to do and what we're spiritually called to do, between clear direction and confusion. Mars-Neptune can manifest as misdirected action, spiritual warfare, or difficulty discerning true guidance from wishful thinking. Move through this transit with awareness, knowing that clarity arrives once Mars hits Capricorn the next day.
On December 30th, Mars in Capricorn sextiles the North Node in Pisces, a beautiful aspect that harmonises practical action with spiritual direction. This is Mars saying: "I'll do the work, but I'm letting divine timing guide when and how." Use the final days of December to align your ambitions with your deeper calling.
Resonance Question: Are you ready to commit to something that requires sustained effort over time? Do you need to build something solid that will outlast the immediate moment? Have you been spinning your wheels or burning out because your action isn't aligned with your actual values or long-term vision? Are you prepared to work patiently toward a goal that matters deeply to you?
Journal Prompts:
- What do I want to build or achieve that requires long-term commitment and disciplined action?
- Where have I been taking action that isn't actually aligned with my deeper values or spiritual direction?
- What does "sustainable ambition" look like for me? How can I pursue my goals without burning out?
- If I could accomplish one meaningful thing in the first quarter of 2026, what would it be? What's the first practical step? (I will have resources for this coming soon, subscribe to Moonday Magic if you'd like to be notified)
Micro-Practice:
Mars in Capricorn loves incremental progress and measurable results. Choose one goal or project and break it down into the smallest possible steps. Each day from December 15th onward, do one small thing that moves you forward. Track your progress visually using a checklist, a chart, a jar of stones - whatever you like as long as you can see it and touch it. Let yourself feel the satisfaction of consistent, disciplined action.
Ritual:
Find a stone or rock that feels substantial in your hand. This represents your commitment and the foundation you're building. Hold it and speak aloud what you're dedicating yourself to building in 2026. Then place this stone somewhere you'll see it daily, maybe on your desk, altar, or bedside table. Each time you see it, let it remind you of your commitment to sustained, aligned action. On December 30th (Mars sextile North Node), hold the stone again and ask: "Is this action still aligned with my spiritual path?" Trust what you receive.
